Autism Support
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them. - The National Autistic Society
With more knowledge being actively sought about autism in various areas of life, there may come a time when seeking relevant advice and support becomes necessary. You may be a parent or a carer to a loved one who is autistic and are finding it particularly difficult to understand the complexities of the condition, which may lead you to need a helping hand to better offer support and understanding. So much about autism remains misunderstood. Autistic individuals face daily challenges that can be overwhelming.
The behaviours and responses displayed by autistic people are sometimes difficult for others to manage and comprehend effectively. Learning from someone else who has experienced autism firsthand can be invaluable, and it could serve as the key to unlocking the understanding that is needed. The charity has been established by an autistic woman, Harriet Piercy/Ashton, who brings a wealth of experience both personally and professionally within the realms of mental health, special educational needs and disabilities, and is committed to offering a service that is tailored specifically to the individual needs of people. The aim of this initiative is to support families and enhance their overall life experiences in meaningful ways.
